Neurosurgery residents are invited to come spend a day with Dr. Hnenny and other experienced colleagues to learn about common surgical approaches and skull base pathologies. There will be a combination of didactic and case-based teaching, with a focus on high-yield topics that you will surely encounter in residency and eventual independent practice. The afternoon session is devoted to skull base pathologies, including diagnostic and management considerations.

Learning Objectives:

By the end of this session, residents will be able to describe common neurosurgical diseases of the skull base, including relevant epidemiologic, molecular, and histopathologic details.
By the end of this session, residents will be able to describe the pre-operative approach to sellar tumors, including endocrinologic considerations.
By the end of this session, residents will be able to describe adjuvant therapies (i.e. hormone/steroid therapy, chemotherapy, radiation therapy) involved in the management of common skull base pathologies.
