Neurophysiology (CSCN) Day: Therapeutic Advances in Neuromuscular Medicine

Several effective treatments have been discovered for various neuromuscular diseases in recent years. These range from immunomodulatory therapies for autoimmune diseases to gene silencing strategies for hereditary NM diseases. The course will provide an update on some of these novel therapeutic advances with emphasis on real world data. Current opportunities and challenges in employing these therapies in Canada will be discussed.

Learning Objectives:

  • Become familiar with the latest therapies in a variety of NM diseases and their specfic indications
  • Compare the advantages/disadvantages in employing the novel therapies over older treatments
  • Comprehend the opportunities/challenges in using these therapies the Canadian landsacpe
