Neurology Residents': Royal College Review: Neurocritical Care and Neuro-oncology

This session will review high yield points in Neuro-oncology and Neurocritical Care. These topics are not often specifically covered in standard resident rotations, but are important to know for both practice and the Royal College exam.

Learning Objectives:

  • Discuss practical points in Neurocritical Care regarding post-arrest prognostication, refractory status epilepticus, and other neurological diseases that require critical care.
  • When to suspect a cancer predisposition syndromes in neuro-oncology.
  • Overview of pathophysiology, clinical presentation, surveillance recommendations, and treatment options of more common and examinable cancer predisposition syndromes.
