Multidisciplinary Course
This course will provide an approach to neurological disorders caused by mitochondrial dysfunction, including a review of the clinical features and differential diagnoses of mitochondrial myopathies, mitochondrial brain disorders, and other mitochondrial diseases with prominent neurological features. The approach to obtaining a diagnosis of a mitochondrial disease will also be reviewed. Existing and emerging therapies for mitochondrial diseases will be discussed. Learning points will be reinforced through discussion of case presentations at the conclusion of the session.
